Important message from our Information Services team:

We've revised the protocol that needs to be followed when any non-person identifiable data/information is sent out externally to the Trust.

It's really important that this protocol is followed by all members of staff who are asked to or want to send our data outside the Trust. This includes to national organisations such as NHS England, NHS Digital, Professional bodies and registries, as well as local organisations such as commissioners and partner organisations.

The protocol includes the requirement to risk assess the request and rationale for sending data externally, get appropriate authorisation and, if approved, to share that the details of the request and the completed risk assessment with our Information Services team, who will keep a log of what's being sent externally.  The full process is summarised in the flow chart in appendix 1 of the protocol.

Please note, that any requests for person identifiable data is covered by the Trust's Use & Release of Person-Identifiable, Pseudonymised and Anonymised Data Protocol.

Our Information Services team will be on hand to help with any questions or issues.

The protocol is on our intranet page in the Useful Documents & Links section, here's the link http://stsft-intranet.franktesting.co.uk/download_file/view/14575/4760/839
