Given the ongoing pressures on staffing we will be extending the current incentive arrangements we have in place via NHSP.  Our £50 Allocate on Arrival scheme will be extended until Friday 30 September and our £250 NHSP Incentive Scheme for escalation wards E53 and F62 will remain in place until Friday 21 October.   Please read the information below for more details.  Please note: these remain temporary arrangements and we will keep staff updated on plans as we prepare for the busy autumn and winter months ahead.

£50 Allocate on Arrival scheme

We are pleased to confirm that the £50 shift incentive for allocate on arrival shifts has been extended until Friday 30th September. This is available to Registered Nurses and Healthcare Assistants booking shifts via the NHSP Ward at Sunderland Royal Hospital (including ICAR and St Benedict’s Hospice) and South Tyneside District Hospital between Thursday 1st September and Friday 30th September.

In order for NHSP to be able to calculate shifts that are eligible for the incentive, timesheets worked within the qualifying period must be authorised and released within the timeframe below (see payment schedule below).

£250 NHSP Incentive Scheme

Sunderland Royal Hospital continues to be under significant pressure due to additional escalation wards being open. Two of the wards E53 and F62 have not got any nursing teams assigned to them and as a consequence of this we are having to redeploy staff on a shift by shift basis, at very short notice to support these wards.  To reduce staff having to be redeployed from other wards across the hospital site we are introducing an NHSP incentive to support these two wards.

Staff can also continue to pick up the NHSP Allocate on Arrival shifts where an additional £50 incentive will be paid to support wards that require additional nurse staffing.

The NHSP £250 incentive for nursing staff working NHSP shifts on Ward E53 and Ward F62 will continue for a further 6-weeks. Staff working shifts worked between Friday 9th September and Friday 21st October will be eligible for a £250 incentive payment for every 37.5 hours worked during this period up to the value of £750. This includes early, late, long day or night shifts.

The incentive payment is only open to Registered Nurses and Health Care Assistants who are registered with NHSP.

In order for NHSP to be able to calculate shifts that are eligible for the incentive, timesheets worked within the qualifying period must be authorised and released within the timeframe below (see payment schedule below for staff that meet the 37.5 hour target for the NHSP incentive).
