To celebrate International Year of the Nurse and Midwife in 2020, South Tyneside & Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust is launching its first ever ‘Nurse and Midwife of the Year’ categories to the Trust’s Annual Reward and Recognition Awards.
The 2020 special recognition awards for nurses and midwives will recognise leadership for safety, quality and experience and is open to all registered nurses or midwives working at the Trust.
Candidates must demonstrate they have shown strong leadership and integrated the principles of quality, safety and patient experience into their work and the work of their team or service. These awards recognise the enormous range of skills, expertise, and enduring compassion that modern nursing and midwifery represent. They celebrate registered nurses and midwives who go above and beyond their everyday roles to provide excellent care, leadership and inspiration to their colleagues and patients.
Nominations are now invited from fellow health care professionals and colleagues.

Nominees for the Awards must currently be a registered nurse or midwife working at the trust. Please check that the person you wish to nominate is content for you to nominate them.
Nominations must be made by someone who is familiar with the work of the nominee.
Selection will be made by a panel of judges. All awards and prizes are non-transferable. The judges’ decision is final.
The awards will be presented as part of the Trust’s annual Reward and Recognition event later in the year (date to be confirmed).
Application forms received after the closing date will not be considered.
