CQC unannounced Inspection 21st and 22nd June 2022

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has arrived at Sunderland Royal Hospital for an unannounced inspection. This will be carried out by inspectors today and tomorrow (21st  and 22nd June 2022). It will include visiting South Tyneside District Hospital. The inspection will focus on maternity and medicine (including care of the older person), but all colleagues need to be aware that they may visit your department.

Please note the following:

  • CQC inspectors will wear their official CQC inspector badge as well as a yellow lanyard issued by the Trust.
  • Requests for information must be facilitated through a central point, which is Kay Hodgson (Head of Assurance).  If information or data is requested directly from you or your team, please advise Kay of this.
  • If you get an opportunity when speaking to the inspectors, do please promote the good practice that your team has implemented and that you are proud of.
  • Please remember to follow all Trust guidance at all times, specifically around infection, prevention and control.

Please ensure that all colleagues within your teams are aware of this inspection so that we can ensure that our usual high standards of care and safe environment are evident at all times.
