The Trust's Cold Weather plan contains advice and actions for when weather is predicted to become cold and bring the risk of snow and ice including useful information about how to prepare for and respond to periods of inclement weather mainly focussing on cold and its impact on patients and staff.

There are several action cards intended for consultation at the following stages: Preparedness, Alert & Readiness, Severe Weather and in Continued Severe Weather conditions. There is also a special card for the Community teams on page 13.

The plan includes information about the effects of cold, how to obtain assistance from the Trust Estates and Facilities teams, how to keep warm and travel safely, and also includes the arrangements for 4x4 vehicular support in particularly snowy and icy weather which has been kindly offered again by the British Red Cross.

Instructions regarding access to this service can be found in appendix 6. This resource may be particularly useful to our Community teams based at STDH and Clarendon.

The Trust also has a Winter plan which describes the measures the Trust will put in place through the winter season.
